Yet Claret is determined to enter her pet in the annual gymkhana, a competition in which dragons vie against each other in tests of agility, speed, and accuracy. Set in the world of Mitlery, where almost everyone can cast magical spells, Kenning Magic tells the story of Noni, the only Mitlerian who has no magical ability.
However, Noni has one skill that makes her special, when everyone in Mitlery can no longer cast spells. She can read.
The Book of Spells can show Noni how to help her countrymen regain their magic. But where is the Book? Can Noni find it in time? And what about those pesky dragons?

Here’s a lovely review (11-11-13) from Calmgrove. And in answer to his (and others’) request: yes, there WILL be a sequel.
Sounds very interesting. Is this YA fantasy? Thanks for the follow. Nice to meet you.
Thanks for the visit. This is fantasy, written for middle grade readers, so — a bit younger than YA, but not by much.
Halfway through Kenning Magic and finding it hard to put down at night! (Only when my eyelids droop…)
Thank you!
How many copies have you sold so far? Is your book in any book stores, or just online? It looks really good!
Thanks, Madeleine, for visiting and for posting your question. My book isn’t available in bookstores unless they order it from the publisher (Saguaro Books). A good bookstore will get a copy for you, or you can order it yourself from online retailers.
Ah, a new one! My toes too are crossed for Dragon Fly‘s emergence from its larval stage. This sounds very Aikenish, or even DWJ-esque, so can’t wait!
Definitely Aikenish. Inspired by the stories in The Serial Garden. I’m currently searching for an agent/publisher who can see its potential.
Hope that works out soon! That reminds me, I still haven’t reviewed that Aiken collection …
Another rejection received today, but I won’t let that deter me. Kate DiCamillo’s first book was rejected more than 400 times, so I ought to be able to make it through a few more.
Hi there. I have a book that Saguaro is interested in, and I wanted to see how you liked working with them? Thank you
