Morning task: Store a bit of summer in the freezer (i.e., pesto!).
Afternoon task: Work on accreditation report (i.e., torture!).
Evening task: Meet with writing group (i.e., feedback!).
I haven’t posted in a while about my own writing. Too busy reading and reviewing, but I have been working on my next novel: 4 of 19 chapters revised. It’s incredibly slow work, because I’m shifting huge chunks around, moving scenes to new locations, creating new characters for those locations, checking and double-checking historical details.
Oy, it’s hard work. An hour yesterday revising just 2 pages.
I feel compelled to warn every would-be writer out there: no part of producing a novel, from birth of an idea to publication, is easy. I know there are writers who love the struggle, but I’m one who faces it with trepidation. I’m smiling, but my brain is asking, “Whose big idea was this anyway?”
