Day 2 of Camp

Just a quick post here. I’ve decided, for some mysterious reason, to revise my 3rd-person narrative into a 1st-person narrative.

I don’t know how long I’ll stick with this — it’s really hard work.

It isn’t enough just to change pronouns (she to I, they to us, etc.). My author’s voice isn’t at all like that of a 14-year-old girl in 1963, so I have to change phrasings and things my MC notices (and omit what she doesn’t). Oy! Who’s big idea was this anyway?

I admire those 1st-person narrators so much more now.

About Lizzie Ross
