Falling behind

images-1At what point does denial become more than just a coping mechanism? I mean to say, I have stacks and stacks of new books to read, two projects on the fire (possibly four, depending on how you interpret “on the fire”), and a commitment to blog about every Newbery Award winner. I need to get crackin’ if I’m to make the 2014 deadline for MrSchuReads’ Newbery Challenge.

imagesNext month  (i.e, tomorrow, the first day of Camp NaNo — according to my countdown clock, just 11 hours away) I’ll return to WIP 1 –YA historical fiction — and do the next round of major revisions, with the goal of submitting it to agents in August (two have expressed interest). Surely in a month I can plug the gaping holes and lop off the trailing growths, bringing the MS closer to what it needs to be. I know what I must do, and I’ve put this task off for three years. No more shilly-shallying.

Meanwhile, I’ll be reading and posting about Newbery books as often as possible.
